Someone asked the question on FB,
WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THE TRUST IS GONE?
and the responses showed me just how little we are taught the truth about TRUST and how bombarded we are with the values of the world instead of from God which is why so many are broken angry and unforgiving.
So…
Because everyone runs in different circles and networks, I decided to repost the question AND to share what I learned a couple of years ago about TRUST from the Holy Spirit, because this is one of those conversations that needs to be had or at least started.
For me, I had an experience which had me ‘in my feelings’. I was raw about an issue; but, I knew that the choices I made in addressing the issue would have long lasting effects so I sought the Lord first with how I was feeling, why, and with what to do (how to handle it) because I committed to walking a lifestyle of having my steps ordered by the Lord which means I can’t do stuff my own way especially when I’m in my feelings.
The Holy Spirit had a hard conversation with me.
In my mind, I was the one wronged. But, the Holy Spirit showed me that I was the one wrong and why. The Holy Spirit corrected me and in doing so the Balm of Gilead was applied to the bruising my heart suffered. He healed me right on up before allowing me to address the issue in conversation with the individual I had ought with.
Because I was corrected and healed, I was able to address the issue from a place of loving kindness and respect instead of from a place of anger and hurt. The result was that I received a favorable outcome and the devil was not able to steal, kill, or destroy.
Check point for me, and zero for the devil, all because I looked to God for help in a battle that could have destroyed many lives because so many are watching my journey.
I love the Lord lol.

Here is what I learned:
What do I do when the TRUST is gone?
I check myself…
… because trust is a valuable commodity that I should never be out of.
You bank TRUST like you bank money.
So, if I’m out of TRUST that means I put it in the wrong place.
(Taking ACCOUNTABILITY for one’s own actions is the first sign of maturity. Blaming someone else for your position in life is a sign of immaturity.)
So never should I ever be out of TRUST.
If I am, the problem is my own
and not that of the next person whom we, in our fleshly emotions, like to say ‘lost’ OUR trust.
(You can’t lose what’s mine, unless I give it to you.)
I can earn trust from people
and when I do, I am supposed to bank that trust in the Lord, and then go earn more.
19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. – Matthew 6:19-21 NIV
The scripture says “store up” so I am to go earn more.
I can also lose the trust I earned from others by how I handle it when I receive it.
But never am I supposed to put my trust in another human.
Humans are not perfect. They are fallible.
Placing trust in a human is like pouring my favorite drink in a cup with holes.
It’s not the cups fault it couldn’t hold my drink. It’s my fault for using a broken vessel.
(Note: God can take a broken vessel and repurpose it. Following in those HUGE footsteps you wouldn’t put your drink in a cup that has holes. But, that doesn’t mean that it couldn’t be used as a planter to grow something in. CATCH.)
Regarding the fluidity of TRUST, this is what God Himself tells us of how to handle it (It would be to our advantage to listen):
💦
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. – Psalm 146:3 KJV
💦
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord , have never forsaken those who seek you. – Psalms 9:10 NIV
It doesn’t get past me that this is a message of healing that someone’s question and comments caused me to ponder on a day that I sat in a doctor’s office.

Jehovah – Rapha, in the name of Jesus I ask that this be as the Balm of Gilead applied to the wound of one who has been broken.
Psalm 34:18 says that you are near to the broken hearted and the crushed one you saved. May those suffering pains of heart feel you near them and may they trust you with their pain. Father you are a healer to those who are willing and obedient. Thank you for healing me in and of my past. Thank you for the healing you are doing and will do for others.
In the name of Jesus I declare and decree the manifestation of breakthroughs in the lives of those who TRUST in the Lord.
We who trust in the Lord shall not be disappointed.
