Operating a Kingdom Business as a Ministry

I believe the Holy Spirit has given me something to speak to you that will leave you

  • Encouraged
  • Inspired
  • Motivated
  • Empowered

So if you are ready to receive, I am ready to pour out. Is that okay?

So, do me a Favor and Stretch hands towards me and pray for me as I take a moment to ask our Heavenly Father for His help in speaking to you today.

FATHER GOD, I thank you for what you have poured into me over the week to speak to your children. In the name of Jesus, I ask that you touch my lips and grant me the ability to speak your word in a manner that is clear, understandable, and easy to apply. I ask, In the name of Christ Jesus, for your protection to be upon this word that it is not lost or stolen; but that it falls upon good ground, and that it bears good fruit that will bless and multiply the lives of those who hear it for your Kingdom, for your purpose and for your glory. Holy Spirit, I surrender myself and this message to you. Have your Way In the name of Christ Jesus. Amen

So how about this, I had everything prepared to share with you and God stepped in and totally changed it all. Then HE had me speak this very message to 3 different people.  So the changes was not in the word itself, but in how i am to deliver it. I am ready to pour out even with the changes that God gave me, and you’re not going to want to miss any of this.

So if you have pen and paper, I do encourage you to take notes so that you can go back and listen later.

People tend to think that there is a difference between ministry and business.

  • They are so similar.
  • They both carry the same meaning of work referring to a person’s occupation where ministry is defined specifically as the work of a minister.

So, the only true way to see the difference between the two is to remove the veil that separates them so you can clearly see the similarities.

Once you can see the similarities, you will also begin to notice the difference.

Removing the Veil starts with understanding what a minister is.

Let me first tell you what a minister is not.

It is not a title.

  • At 1 Corinthians 12:28 we are told that a minister is one of the gifts in men that God gave the church.
    • 1st apostles, 2nd prophets, 3rd teachers,
    • Workers of miracles, those with the gift of healing,
    • Those able to help others
  • A minister is a person who serves. It is a person who has a heart to want to help others.

Understand: Not everyone have a servant’s heart – a heart to help others.

Having the title minister does not make a person a minister. So many do not have the title,  but they serve; i.e. day care workers, waiters/waitresses, etc.

When we see people with a servant’s heart, its only natural to want to pray for them; lift them up to the Lord.

Yesterday, after talking to a Kingdom Woman of God, who strongly operates in the gift of helps, and she shared with me where God was leading her now, I felt led to pray to God, in the name of Jesus, asking that she is given strength to accomplish all that God has given her to do.

Immediately I heard:

  • There is more Joy in giving than there is in receiving. (Acts 20:35)

Instantly knew that my Prayer was answered because of what Gods Word tell us about Joy?

  • The Joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10)

I prayed for her traveling mercy and grace, and lifted up the situation that she is dealing with, asking God to intercede.

  • I pictured Abraham talking with the Lord while the two angels went to go get Lot and his family out of Sodom and Gomorrah
  • Exodus 23:20-33  – He will send his angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and bring you to the place I have prepared.

I realized that my prayers were being answered immediately, and I was shown that what I was asking for was already done.

I was trying to quickly process what I needed to do…

  • Ask God What should I pray for? Romans 8:26, 27 We don’t know how to pray as we ought

What God had instructed me to share with her was everything that I had planned to speak with you.

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. – 2 Corinthians 9:10-11

Whether you are a business owner, or a minister in ministry, this is for you.

Because most ministers know that to minister is to serve; to pour out of your time, your energy, and your resources in helping others, who I need to single out right now is the business owner.

Your business is a ministry of helps also if you offer…

  • A Product –  whatever that product is, it is designed to meet a need of the consumer
  • A Service – you are offering your skills to help meet a need of the consumer.

In this sense a business, and a ministry, is exactly the same because a need is being met.

When choosing to enter into a business, or a ministry, you choose an area, a career, a field that you are passionate about. That passion that you feel for whatever area of business, or ministry, that you are operating in is God given.

Every one of us, from the Business Owner to the Minister, has made the mistake of thinking that it was us who made the choice to go into whatever area, or field of ministry, or business that we are in.

Look at what Jesus said John 15:16

16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. – John 15:16

What you are doing is because of God’s spirit which is so heavy in you, and upon you.

There are going to be times when you are going to be  tired, exhausted, and drained from having poured out so much. But know that no matter how much you pour out you will never be emptied out. Here is why…

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. – 1 Corinthians 12:27-28

The gift of helps (the gift of ministry / serving) is a gift from God.

Jesus said that He chose you, and He appointed you to do what you do; and because he appointed you, he also anoints you (empowers you) to be able to do what you do.

Now here is what I am supposed to show you from 2 Corinthians 9:10, 11

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. – 2 Corinthians 9:10-11

GOD Almighty, in the name of Jesus Christ, is to always be your Source.

Whatever you need, ask God first, before you approach man.

GOD is your SOURCE. Man is simply a re-source. If you seek man first, you will always run out, or experience that what you need might not be available. But if you only rely on your Source, you will never lack in anything.

(That was the whole purpose behind my being shown Genesis 18 – God is walking with you. And he has sent his angels out before you to prepare the way for you.)

You are to always ask God first, before you go to man. When you ask God, in the name of Christ Jesus, who said that whatever you ask the Father for, in his name, is yes and amen (John 14:13), then know that after you ask the Father, and he has sent forth his angels to prepare the way, then your steps will be ordered; and the person that you then are directed to, to ask, will have what you need because God appointed them to have your supply for you.

Im still trying to get to 2 Corinthians 9, but I got to show you this…

Write in your notes (Luke 19: 29 – 35 and Luke 22:7-13)

In both places, Jesus gave his disciples a command to go take care of something for him – to be his hands extended in a matter.

This is the ministry of helps.

They were helping the Lord. and Jesus told them where to go, when to go, who to see, what to do or say, and he will tell you why;  and in both cases the disciples found things to be just as Jesus told them. The way was already prepared for them.

So you must always, always, always ask God first if you want to be successful in your ministry and businesses. He is your Source; and when you go to him to refill you, to replenish you, to resource you,  you will NEVER run out.

Now, let’s look at the difference between business and ministry:

  • Sometimes business owners get so wrapped up in their product, or the service that they offer; and sometimes EMPLOYEES get so wrapped up in the jobs that they work at  that they forget that God is their SOURCE and they begin to turn to man to receive of their resources.
  • You are going to find, that when you go to man first, as a resource, you are not always going to get what you need. This is because resources don’t always have the stock that they need. They run out. But God never runs out.
  •  2 Corinthians 9:10, 11 reminds us that God is our supplier. He supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food. He gives you the tools that you need to be able to build, grow, create whatever you need, and the money you need.
  • Because God is your supplier, because you look to God to help you ( Psalm 91), Know that God guarantees you. (Isaiah 55:11)
  • Man cannot guarantee you. A resource cannot resource you. Because when they run out, or stop making the products that you need for your business or ministry, then what are you going to do.
  • This is why God is telling us that we need to go to the Source for our resource. We need to look to the Source to refill and to replenish.
  • God gives us his guarantee at Isaiah 55:11 that it will be just as he said because his word cannot return to him void. It has to do all for which it was sent forth. So we have a Supplier whom we can trust.
  • So this is God’s promise to us. He said that not only will he SUPPLY us with seed (the tools we need to be able to work and build so that we can have for later), and with bread for food (money or resources so that we can enjoy now), but God also said that he will INCREASE our store.

In Malachi 3:10, we see that the blessing and the promise of God that comes when we honor him will pour out upon us until we don’t have room to hold more. Let’s look at that…

Malachi 3:10 NIV

As a recap,

God is your Source.

He is the supplier of your seed (so that you can continue to have later), and your supplier of bread (so that you can enjoy now).

He guarantees you (Isaiah 55:11), because you look to him to be your Source (Psalm 91), that not only will HE supply you, but HE will also increase your store of seed. (We are not talking about a little increase.)

Are you as overwhelmed with the goodness of God as I am?

We are talking about a huge increase (Malachi 3:10)

He next says to you that HE will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

Do you understand what God is saying in 2 Corinthians 9:10, when he says that HE will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness?

What that verse means is this:

This righteousness that is mentioned here is the righteousness that is being attributed (assigned, credited) to you, because you trust God with all your heart. God said that he is going to enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

Harvest is the time when your seed have grown up, and matured to the point that it is bearing fruit. It is the time when you can go out to the seed that you planted, and begin to pick fruit from that seed.

God said He is going to ENLARGE the harvest of your righteousness. Let me explain to you what this means.

We like to quote Isaiah 54:17 that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. But that scripture says more.

It also says neither will a tongue rise in judgment against you.

So, when God enlarges the harvest of your righteousness, what that means is that there will be more people for you than against you. Because you put God first your enemies will be your footstool. Your enemies will praise God because of you. God will give you favor with man all because you have favor with God.  Glory.

Verse 11 continues that you will be enriched in EVERY way.

But catch this:

God said that your eyes have not seen, your ears have not heard, and neither has it come into your thoughts, the great things that HE has in store for you.

All I can tell you is that GOD said…

Because you keep your eyes focused on HIM, Because GOD is your source so that you can be a resource to others, HE SAID that YOU WILL BE… (that is a declaration.)

He didn’t say that you “might be. He didn’t leave room for no doubts. He said that YOU WILL BE ENRICHED.

Catch this blessing that God is pouring out on you.

He said you will be ENRICHED. You will be enhanced. Your value will increase. You are not “just Mary” as Mary J Blige sings. She sings “I’m just plain old Mary, Mary.” That is not true of you anymore. You are the new and improved version of yourself according to God’s Word.

You are wealthy; and if you were already wealthy, then you are now wealthier. You have added vitamins, and added nutrients.

So what that tells me is that God has answered me in regards to my prayer for you to give you a double portion of the fruits of HIS Holy Spirit so that you can do the work that he is calling you to do.

Glory I am overwhelmed.

So earlier when I gave the examples of Jesus telling his disciples to go and take care of some business for him, and that they were his hands extended; and how Jesus told them what, when, where, who, how, and I said that He also told them why.; well, God gave you your why as to why he is doing this for you in verse 11 also.

God said that the reason why HE is ENRICHING you IN EVERY WAY is so that you can be generous on every occasion. So, that you can continue to be a blessing to others. So that you can sow into others on every occasion.

But remember, you must always seek God first. Remember that God will tell you who, how, when, where, and what, and here is the last part to your why:

It is because your generosity will cause others to praise God even as I am now praising God because of you, and for having met you.

I pray that this has blessed you.❤💖
