You can fill your gas tank up on Sunday, but if you are not paying attention to your gas hand levels, the busyness of your day to day lives can quickly take you from full to a red indicator light warning you that you need fuel.
Midweek bible study is a good time to fill back up what you were depleted of during your busyness.
But when you work all day long, so that you are too tired to study your Bible Study, what are you chasing after?
If you are too tired to go out and meet in a group for Bible Study to get refueled by God, are you taking that time to quietly sit before the Lord in the comfort of your own home, or are you spending that time watching a little television. Be truthful now, with yourself, because God already knows the truth. He sees everything. What are you chasing after?
It surely cannot be God when you are too tired for Bible Study but you are not too tired to watch television.
When the battery on my phone begin to die. I look for my charger to plug it back up.
My husband laughs at me because I take my charger with me where ever I go. And trust and believe I will find a power source for my phone. I will find an outlet to plug into. That is 100 truth.
I know I’m not alone in this. But…
Do we plug our spirit in the way we plug our phones in.
God is the Source of our strength. Isaiah 40:29 says that HE gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the week.
So when you are tired after working hard all day for man, to make money to pay your bills, but instead of plugging into the Source, who is the creator of all things, the sustainer of life, who we say IS Jehovah Jireh our provider; instead of pursing the presence of God to get refilled and re-energized, we stay home and watch television… What are you really chasing after?
Who or what are you really serving?
What is getting your energy? Your strength? Your mental fortitude?
How many times Do you stop at a gas station during the week?
How many times do you charge up your cell phone?
…But your spirit is running on fumes???
10 virgins Jesus said.
All 10 fell asleep Jesus said.
But when they began to wake up, and no one awakens at the same time, only 5 had extra oil.
I promise you that the five with the extra oil did not miss a midweek bible study, or they did not exchange time that could have been spent in the presence of the Lord with watching television.
I can also promise you that there will be some who will choose to take offense at this post instead of being honest with themselves and thanking God for the grace given in the warnings received.

You see here is the thing…
Jesus said about our day that it would be like it was in Noah’s Day. HE said that the people would take no note until the flood was upon them. He was not talking about the world.
There was religion in Noah’s day and still everyone died except for Noah and his family. So Sunday service is not enough.
You don’t go to work one day a week.
You don’t talk to the people who live in the house with you once a week.
You don’t plug up your cell phone once a week.
You do not eat food to energize your body once a week.
So why (???) do you really think that entering into the presence of the Lord once a week is worship and praise that is acceptable to God.
I wish my husband would say to me, “I’m only going to speak to you once a week, for 2 hours, because the remaining 166 hours in the week I need to give to my business and those that work for me or my clients.”
If he was to do that do you think he would still be married?
If I was to treat him that way, out of a 24 hour day not interacting with him for a least 2.4 hours of the day, that I would still be married?
How many marriages end because of irreconcilable differences? How many marriages end because of no intimacy, which really means no communication? How many marriages are in trouble because mates communicate more with others outside of their marriage than they do with their partner?
How much time do you spend watching television, movies, recreating? How much time do you spend communicating with and listening to the Lord?
Is what we would divorce our marriage mate over, the exact same thing we are doing in our relationship with the Lord, whom Isaiah 54:5 says is our husbandly owner?
And before anyone think I’m judging, instead, realize that we would rather address these issues individually before we are called to the throne of God and repent to the Lord for how we have been treating him while deceiving ourselves to think that our relationship is acceptable to God.
Receiving Jesus as our Lord and Savior does not excuse us, it makes us more accountable.
Jesus said Many on that day (what day? The day of the Lord. The day we have to stand before the judgment seat) will say to him Lord Lord did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out many demons, and perform many miracles. Then Jesus said that he would plainly tell them “I never knew you get away from me you evildoer.” Jesus said it is the one who does the will of his father in Heaven that will enter into the Kingdom of the heavens. (Matthew 7:21-23) He was not talking to the world. He was talking to those of us who call ourselves disciples of Christ, Christians, Believers.
We need to be paying attention.
Father God. In the name of Jesus I come before you with a bowed head and heart. This message is hard for me Dad. I stopped several times in preparing it to walk away from it because it is a message that angers me.
Daddy I’m getting really angry with the church. I’m really frustrated with the church and all that I am seeing happening in it. I make myself stand still all while waiting for you to tell me to leave. I close my eyes to what I see while I scream out in pain because every joint supplieth so what I’m seeing is hurting me too. My screams are prayers. Romans 8:26, 27 and you know the meaning of what is paining me. I know you will act to correct this 2 Thessalonians 1:6-8. I know this because you said at Zechariah 2:8 that anyone touching me is like touching your eyeball.
Daddy in the name of Jesus I ask that those who do belong to you see this post and give you thanks for your grace in warning us.
I thank you for your grace.
Daddy I want to love you how you want to be loved. Your will be done not mine.
I repent of anytime I have just went thru the motions of church. I repent of thinking a good song or shout is worship. You know when my heart is not in my words. You know when my words are half full or empty.
Dad I want a complete and full heart towards you.
I don’t want you to feel jealous because I spend more time with others or doing other things than I do with you communicating intimately with you. The gifts and talents you bless me with is not more important than you. The fruit is not more important than the root. The root enables the fruit to produce plenty exceedingly abundantly above all I can think or ask. I choose You grateful that you chose me.
In the name of Jesus I give you my heart. I ask for the blood of Christ Jesus to saturate me and cover me. I speak crop failure over any weeds that the enemy tries to sow in me by making me frustrated with the church.
What the enemy means for evil may it turn out for the good, for your glory. May the people see your love instead of my frustration. Because where would any of us make a stand if we had to stand before your throne now.
Thank you for your mercy and grace.
Thank you for loving us and continuing to reach out to us in spite of how poorly we have treated you.
Thank you FATHER in the name of Christ Jesus I pray. Amen.
