In Mark 3:14-15, Jesus called the 12 and gave them authority and power to heal and to cast out demons.
At Luke 10:1, Jesus appointed 70 others and gave them authority also. When the 70 returned (Luke 10:17) they were full of joy that the demons were subject to them too, in the name of Jesus.
At Luke 10:18-20, Jesus then proceeds to tell them not to rejoice over the authority that they have, but to rejoice that their names are written in heaven.
It’s important that we not get caught up in our titles and appointments, but instead that we get in the presence of the Lord and allow the Lord to fill us up with the power and anointing, with the grace that is needed for the storms that are coming in our lives.
This is the example that Jesus set for us. He got up early while it was still dark and He entered into the presence of His Father.
If you read the Gospel accounts you will find that Jesus was always going off by himself and that the disciples was always finding him.
Every opportunity He got He tried to get alone. Why?
So that he could refresh in the presence of the Lord.
That is what we need to do.
Enter into the rest of the Lord.
