MOVIE REVIEW: The Power of Perspective from a Vantage Point

Have you seen this movie.

If you haven’t you need to.

This movie is about perspective.

Perspective

Every one looking at something sees it from their own perspective.

Describing what you see from your perspective does not mean that the perspective of the next person is wrong.

There is an ancient parable of blind men placed in a room with an elephant.

Each man is placed at a different vantage points and they describe what they see.

None of the men know what is in the room with them as they are all asked to describe what they feel.

Each ones description is different because of the different vantage points, but it’s only one elephant in the room.

What each person experiences is real and true for their experience.

As they describe their own experience it does not make the experience of the next person false. The next persons vantage point is real.

These men argued about what they saw when if they had taken into consideration each person’s vantage point without taking offense over the different views they could have figured out that what was in the room – an elephant.

This is an amazing parable that should remind you to listen to the vantage point of the next person as it might just fill in some blanks for you.

Also as a person tells their vantage point it doesnt mean they are putting words in your mouth or calling you a liar.

Know that there is always someone with a greater perspective and the greatest of all perspectives is that of Almighty God who sits high and looks low.

Where here on earth we only see eye level and that sight is diminished when our eyesight is poor; God Almighty is high above all and therefore nothing is hidden from His sight.

Therefore the best perspective to get in any matter is that of God Almighty who tells us that there is nothing new under the sun.

We, like the Israelites in the wilderness after coming out of Egypt,  have been walking about the mountain in circles. Over and over and over again.

This will continue until every knee bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord.

If you haven’t taken the time to watch the movie Vantage Point. I encourage you to do so.
Not once but at least twice.

Why?

Because the first time you will be watching the movie to see it.

Its the second or more time(s) that you will be looking with and for understanding. And each time there is a chance that your perspective will change also.

May you begin to enjoy good communication or better communication as you learn to understand the power of perspective from a vantage point
