Pentecost: A Time of Rededication; Verse: Exodus 15:26

Today, June 4-6 of the year 2022, is the true celebration of Pentecost as instituted by our Heavenly Father who commanded that this be celebrated from time indefinite.

It is about rededicating our selves to the Lord.

To dedicate oneself is to devote (time, effort, or oneself) to a particular task or purpose.

Other words that mean dedicate is devote,
commit, pledge, bind, obligate, give, give over, surrender, set aside, allot, allocate, consign, or sacrifice.

Regarding this, the apostle Paul told Timothy the following:

Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. – 1 Timothy 4:13 ESV

As such, Pentecost is looked upon as being the birth of the church.

Normally people see church as being a place where scripture is read publicly.

But let us not miss this truth.
We are the church.
And this day is a time for us to recommit ourselves to reading Gods Word.

If we can be honest and say that we haven’t been reading Gods Word as much as we should, this is the time where we rededicate our selves, we recommit ourselves.

I like it best how Jesus said it in the letter he had written to the church of Ephesus at Revelation 2:4,5 which says, ” nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place – unless you repent.”

To those who paid attention this is what Jesus said, “he who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.” (Revelation 2:7)

It’s to our benefit to heed the warning.

It’s to our benefit to acknowledge this day of reminder.

This celebration was for us.

There is one celebration left of those that were instituted by the Lord Himself.

(To check for the correct dates I always go to Chabad.org because sadly the church has been following dates that do not align with the Jewish calendar – a calendar set in place by God Almighty also. See Exodus 12.)

Be Blessed.
