I have taken to putting puzzles together. This is nothing new but I realize the fact that I am doing it now is symbolic.
You see I am working on something huge and at times I walk away from it just so that I can refocus. Well during that time I started putting together puzzles in which the pieces began getting smaller and smaller in sizing making it more challenging. I didn’t realize what was happening until I began noticing the little breakthroughs in what Im working on also happening.
So this that I am sharing is a piece to a bigger puzzle that ironically is connected to the Behind the Veil Sneak Peek that I have been sharing in the Subscribers Only section. How wierd is that yet amazing. (By the way, I will be working on the subscriber page to make it easier to navigate real soon.)
So with that introduction let me connect two of the puzzle pieces here…
As I shared “in the beginning” (Heb.: bereshit) of this writing , I am reading Joel because of the same research that led me to do the video Valley of Jehoshaphat.
Here are the background verses so you can read the actual stories:
1.King Ahab taking Jezreel is found in 1 Kings 21
2.Jehu taking over as King and killing the son and grandson of Ahab who were Kings of Israel and Judah is 2 Kings chapters 8-9
This time I started in chapter 1 because of what I understood about chapter 3.
I wanted to hear and see it all from the beginning.
I understood that we were being told to hear, listen, pay attention and the tell this to our children and grand children (vs2-3)
We are being shown something of importance that we must pay attention to.
It pertains to our day now.
We are shown 4 destroyers (vs 4) referred to as locusts but I knew what I was looking at because of previous studies.
I knew that I was seeing today the same plague that hit JOB. (Satan doesn’t have any new tricks.)
The chewing, gnawing locusts is the palmerworm and their characteristics represents the hit we take to, in, and from family.
The swarming locusts characteristics represents the hit we take in our finances because of how devastating and destructive it is.
The creeping, crawling locusts is the cankerworm and it represents the attacks we experience in our health physically and emotionally.
The consuming, stripping locusts is the caterpillar. It changes in how it looks and represents character assassination.
We see all of these attacks in JOB chapters 1-2 when Satan goes after JOB to try to say that JOB’s love for God is not real.
Each of these attacks are happening today also. I did a study on this a while ago and will have to look for it later to share it in detail.
So continuing with Joel 1:5 the drunkards and the drinkers of wine. These are those who are “living their best life” now according to the standards of this world. They are drunk in that they are all about making more money and living showy and flashy. 1 John 2:16-17
The drunkards will be those who has the showy display, and the drinkers would be those who are chasing after that flashy lifestyle.
Vs 5 tells us that these ones will weep and wail over the “new wine” that has been cut off from their mouths. This new wine is the new life in Christ Jesus. It’s the Spirit filled life.
It’s why we as Christians put off the old and put on the new. Jesus referred to this when He said that you cannot put new wine into old wineskins. (I did a study on this also that I would have to find.) Basically this means that when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior everything about you will change because you cant continue to do the same “old” things while claiming to have a “new” walk in Christ. The wineskins, your walk and talk, must be new also. Luke 5:36-39
So that took me to Joel 1:6 where I got stuck and found myself here writing lol.
There is a nation that comes up against the Lord’s land and I wanted to know who this nation was.
The research had me going in circles (Joel 2:2,11,25) I had to put on my glasses for this one because I needed to see the fine print clearly.

So the next thing I know I’m researching the Locusts again.
I dug, and dug, and was finally sent to Proverbs 30:25-27 and I realized what I was looking at in Joel chapter 1:6-7.
It is the impact that the world has had. To explain I have to start here and share my notes from this article as I looked again at the locusts.

As I read this article about the Locust plague that occurred back in 2020, this is what it stated that stood out to me:
Most of the time Locust exist in their grasshopper phase – they lead solitary lives, they’re green and pretty unremarkable, nobody notices them,
Until…
They are alone and biding their time,
Until…
The environmental conditions are right.
What conditions?
There is a lot of rainfall and moisture.
(… I take note again of the fact that it is rainy outside, gloomy, and now really dark. Let me stay focused…)
Then…
…something dramatic happens.
They increase in number. They begin to sense one another, and the phase changes from the grasshopper phase (being alone) to the gregarious phase (being sociable and organized, growing in open clusters in pure association).
This might offend some readers. It is not my intent to offend anyone. But I must take note of this as I understand going from the grasshopper phase to the gregarious phase and what that means.
The illustration that was granted me to be able to understand the change in phases was the illustration of what it was like years ago for those who were homosexuals “in the closet” per se. These ones started off alone.
But the climate began to change.
It was in the change of the climate that the dramatic happened as written above, and in that dramatic change those who are of that persuasion began to notice one another.
They went from being alone (which is the grasshopper phase), to being social with one another (which is the gregarious phase) and having parades, and winning court rulings in reference to the acceptance of their lifestyle which was now being called LGBTQ.
Again this illustration is not meant to offend any reader, but it is meant to help us to understand what going from a grasshopper phase to going to a gregarious phase looks like.
This Abomination that causes desolation that Joel is writing and talking to us about has run to and fro in the city, and run on the wall, and now it is climbing into the house, entering in at the Windows like a thief. What are these houses? What are the windows?
I had to pause in writing this because I was sent urgently back to the book of JOEL, this time chapter 2. I ended up stopping to record a video that ended up being so long that it has the first upload to Youtube before I can share it.
The video is entitled “The Book of Joel and Urgent Message for today”. When it is ready I will come back to this post and attach it here.
But I didn’t want to hold this writing to wait for a video that won’t be available until tomorrow. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. So I needed to make sure that I went ahead and finished this writing and released it.
I feel nauseous even as the video is uploading. It’s done, but my nauseousness is from knowing what I now know, and I need to go ahead and share that now from Joel chapter 2.
For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion. He has laid waste My vine, and ruined My for tree; He has stripped it bare and thrown it away; Its branches are made white – Joel 1:6-7
Who is this nation?
The answer is found in Joel 2:1-11. Click the highlighted verse to read it. Joel 2:1-11
The reference notes of the Holman NKJV Study Bible says regarding Joel 2:9-11, “Joel continue the interplay of soldiers with the imagery and actions of a locust plague. The swarming locusts ate everything in the fields and then came into the City and finally into the houses. So also invading armies breached the city walls and then plundered the houses. Joel used end-time language and moved beyond what happens in normal locusts or military invasions. The very heavens were now engaged; Yahweh and His Heavenly armies were ready to wreck havoc. Judgment Day had come.”
To understand this, a lot of times we like to look at individuals but I remind you that Ephesians 6:12 tells us that our Warfare is not against flesh and blood. So this is not humans that we’re looking at.
Joel said that the locusts devoured everything in the field. The field represents the world. Joel says that what lied before them looked like (the land looks like) the Garden of Eden.
Joel said…
- they ran like Mighty Men
- they climb the wall like Men of War
- everyone marched in formation
- they didn’t break ranks
- they didn’t push one another
- everyone marched in his own column
- though they lunge between weapons, they were not cut down
- they ran to and fro in the city
- they run on the wall
- they climb into the houses
- they enter at the Windows like a thief.
Do you know what you are seeing here? You’re not seeing humans. You are seeing the spirit of immorality – sexual immorality: homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, fornication, adultery, perversions of all types.
It has devoured the world which is represented by the open field. The land that lied before it would then be God’s territory, God’s land, God’s people, which was like the Garden of Eden to this perversion. (See Joel 1:6-7) In Joel 2:7 -9, which I listed above, it talked about how they came at the city, and how they lunged between weapons, but was not cut down. What was these weapons?
(Those who are subscribers to the sneak peek page, as well as to the behind the veil page know how this applies to what I have been working on, and how this would suddenly make so much sense to me.)
These weapons are our sword and shield we are told at Ephesians chapter 6. Our sword is sharper than any two-edged sword we are told, but this Army is able to lunge between the weapons and not be cut.
How is that? Is that because those who are holding the weapons do not know how to use the weapons they are holding? This is even more reason for me to hurry and finish this project that I’m working on.
Verse 9 says they run to and fro in the city, they run on the wall, they climb into the houses, they enter at the Windows like a thief. How?
First you must understand what the city is. The city is Jerusalem. The city is the places of worship. Jesus spoke about this when telling the apostles, his disciples, what the last days would look like.
In Matthew 24:15, Jesus said, ” therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the Holy place (whoever reads, let him understand)…
Joel is telling us of the abomination that causes desolation and showing us that it is running to and fro in the city, in the church, in Jerusalem. It has lunged between the weapons and has not been stopped by our Shields of faith or cut by our swords, which is the word of God the sword of the spirit.
It’s running on the wall. That place where Jesus warned the Laodiceans that they were not to sit. (See Revelation chapter 3)
Jesus told the Laodiceans, “I wish that you were either hot or cold, but because you are lukewarm I will spew you out of my mouth.” These are the ones who sit on the wall (on the fence) so to say.
Our home that we live in, our brick and mortar homes are the houses. But not just our homes, our bodies is the houses too. The windows is the television screen. The windows is our eyes.
The Abomination that causes desolation climbs into our houses through the television screen and into our bodies through our eyes.
It’s the things that we watch on television. Remember the Abomination that causes desolation is sexual immorality. So we’re talking about homosexuality. We’re talking about lesbianism, bestiality, fornication, adultery, and all types of perversions. .
It’s all over the television programs. It’s even in the children’s cartoons.
We’re talking every type of perversion and sodomy.
It’s on the computer screens. Its on the iPads. It’s on the Android phones and the iPhones. It’s in the TicToks. It’s in the Reels we watch on social media. It’s in the sitcoms that we watch for 30-45 minutes, and the movies that we watch for hours on end. It’s in the commercials. It’s all over social media in the videos and comments.
It’s not that we as Christians are looking to watch this stuff. It bombards us when we least expect it. We see it in a Split Second and we move quickly to turn from it. This is why verse 10 says the earth quakes before them. But what happens when we stop reacting to turn from it?
This is why Joel wrote in chapter 1 that the land that belongs to the Lord has been laid waste, His vine, and His fig tree has been ruined.
It’s a slow fade and part of what has made it so difficult is when family members that we care about has fallen into this trap. We love our family. But how do you love a family member who has been captured by sexual immorality? What they are doing is wrong. How do you stand against it? We don’t want to push the family member away. Therefore, this thing has been able to push (lunge) between our weapons and not be cut down.
The heavens have been watching all of this happen too, and Joel says that the heavens tremble. The Sun and the Moon grow dark and the Stars diminish their brightness.
It is now time!
Joel 2:11 says “the Lord gives voice before His army. His Camp is very great. Strong is the one who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible. Who can endure it?”
It is now time!
It is not God’s desire that any of us is destroyed. I want to emphasize this. And so does Joel.
The next thing Joel says is that there’s a call for repentance. There is a call from the Lord for us to return to him with all of our heart.
To fast. To weep. To mourn.
He tells us to rend our hearts, not our clothes, not our garments.
He tells us to consecrate a fast.
He says to gather the people.
To sanctify the congregation. That means cleanse the church.
To assemble the elders. To gather the children and the nursing babies.
He tells the priest to weep between the porch and the altar. Not standing on the altar. Come down from behind the Altar and weep between the porch and the altar. Come down off the altar and get in the congregation and weep, and pray, and fast too, asking the Lord that the people are spared just like Moses did.
Continue reading Joel 2 on your own. See the LOVE the Lord has for us. He doesn’t want to destroy us. He wants us to come to him for safety as he prepares to destroy that which has been coming against us.
For a reminder of what has been coming against us, see Ephesians 6:12.
I’m going to end this here. I can only pray that this has helped you to see that Joel’s urgent message is for us today. Now.
Whether this has planted a seed, or watered one, to God be the glory for He alone gives growth.
Be blessed.
