FATHER, I’ll Be YOUR Witness

Daddy,

I have a question.

I hear people say that you don’t need anyone to defend YOU.

But you said that …

We are your witnesses. Isaiah 43:10,12

Witnesses are called to defend the truth. Isaiah 43:9

We, as your witnesses, are to prove that you are God and not none of these foreign gods these nations serve.

Daddy,

In Genesis, we are told why witnesses were needed. Genesis 3:1-5. It was because of that lie that Satan told about You, slandering You.

He told another lie when he said that we only love and serve You because of what You do for us. JOB 2:4,5. (I am so grateful that JOB proved Satan to be a liar again.)

All these years You patiently allowed us free will just so that we could see how wrong Satan was.

All these years, You waited for us to stop hurting ourselves and return to You.

But DADDY, a part of what hurts us and hinders us is all these LIES we hear.

They sound good but…

Do we check them against Your word which is Truth?

People say…

You don’t need us to defend You.

YOU said, “we are your witnesses.”

I choose to listen to YOU.

So what is my question?

You answered it before I could even ask it.

Whose report will I believe – men’s or God’s?

I choose to believe Yours, DADDY because YOU are Truth.

Let GOD be found true and every man a liar.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? ” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” – Isaiah 6:8 NIV

DADDY, I will be Your witness.

Like Isaiah said, “Here I am. Send me.”

I will go and proclaim Your word in the hearing of Your people whether they listen or not.

He said, “Go, and tell this people: “‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.” – Isaiah 6:9-10 NIV

My heart breaks.

For I see this happening now.

My heart breaks.

People are distracted.

Their eyes are focused on the storm around them instead of on the Lord.

Two days ago, Daddy spoke to me, and said,

“It has to be more than words spoken. It has to be a lifestyle” as I was singing “to worship You I live”.

Daddy said that many claim to worship HIM but they don’t. It’s just words.

For many, worshipping God is going to church on Sunday, singing “Christian” songs, and claiming to believe in the name of Jesus. Yet their actions afterward tell a different story.

They forget about what is written in James 2:19

But someone will say, “You have faith; I have deeds.” Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by my deeds. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that —and shudder. You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend. You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone. In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction? As the body without the spirit is dead, faith without deeds is dead. – James 2:18-26 NIV

They forget what Jesus said in Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” – Matthew 7:21-27 NIV

It has to be more than words spoken.

It has to be a lifestyle.

People need to be able to see the evidence in your walk.

Your actions need to prove your love.

Who you spend the most time with is who you are in a relationship with.

Me: “I’ll be YOUR witness.”

I will tell the world of how faithful You are LORD
