Comfort for the Grieving Heart

Please feel free to share this with anyone and everyone who is grieving.

May the God of all comfort, comfort your grieving hearts with His promises to restore us to our deceased loved ones.

On several occasions Jesus showed us his power over death.

First, and this might not be in order, he raised Jairus’ daughter from death. She had only been dead and hour or two.

The he raised the widow’s son. The significance of this is that the boy had already died. They had already had the funeral. They were in the funeral procession heading to the burial place when Jesus stopped them and raised the body from the dead.

Finally, he raised Lazarus whom he was told was sick, but he purposely did not speak the word for his healing though it was known that he could. He purposely delayed in going to where Lazarus lived which meant that he missed the funeral. He was also not at the burial. By the time he arrived Lazarus had been in the grave for four days already and thus his body had begun the process of decay.

We all know what happened. He demonstrated his power over death and raised Lazarus from the dead.

Finally, having died and having been laid to rest in the burial tomb himself, He got up early on the third day.

The firstborn among many brethren.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, that resurrection life is inside of us to.

Now think of prison. Everyone in prison has an outdate. Just like a prisoner wait for their release, for their out date. So too are those sleeping awaiting for their name to be called.
