Random Thoughts (that aren’t so random)

As I always do, I start off my day listening to the Word of God playing from my Bible app on my phone. I was listening and I heard and it got me to thinking…

Thinking about what I’m hearing…

The whole reason that Father warns us

Reaches for us

Reminds us that HE sees us

Is the same reason a parent warns their child several times over

Before disciplining them

Love

HE knows what we don’t know

HE sees what we don’t see

HE forewarns us

Reminds me of the older generation and how they forewarn the younger

I’ve come to the conclusion that Father wants us to live more than we want to live ourselves.

We are stubborn and have the “I’ll see for myself” syndrome

We are hard of hearing.

We can’t be told nothing.

Especially if we don’t want to hear it

We are a lot of incorrigible children.

The type of children that only a parent can truly love

Child: (bumping their head cries out)

Parent: (concerned, with frustration yet love)

“Didn’t I tell you…”

This plays out over and over and over

as children grow up

then roles reverse and the child becomes the parent saying “didn’t I tell you…” to their children.

Our reasons for warning our children are the same as that of our Father…

Love

We take no pleasure in the death of one who dies.

The purpose of the warning is to prevent the death.

It’s easy to comfort an injury, so we warn

but there is no comfort where there has been a death

Who can comfort God?

This reminds me of what happened after the 40 days and 40 nights of flooding rains.

There was a period of silence.

Genesis 8:1 says “and God remembered Noah”

I realize now that it was a moment of mourning.

Mourning over a senseless death.

If our day is “Like it was in Noah’s day”

And God waited 100 years from the moment of warning to the moment of action of bringing the flood upon those who paid no attention.

Where are we in time?

How close are we to D-day?

Noah didn’t close the door of the Ark, God did.

EZEKIEL 18

“Therefore I will judge you,

O house of Israel,

every one according to his ways,”

says the Lord God.

“Repent,

and turn from all your transgressions,

so that iniquity will not be your ruin.

Cast away from you

all the transgressions

which you have committed,

and get yourselves a new heart

and a new spirit.

For why should you die,

O house of Israel?

For I have no pleasure in the death

of one who dies,”

says the Lord God.

“Therefore turn and live!”

Ezekiel 18:30-32 NKJV

Give me a clean heart.

Open my ears so that I can hear.

Renew in me a right spirit within.

Make me over.

In the name of King Jesus
