I was sitting listening to this video that I originally shared on October 19, 2024 again…
…and I was reminded of something…
MARRIAGE
GOD’S Word speaks of His relationship with His people as a marriage, many times calling His people unfaithful and adulteresses.
(PLEASE READ Jeremiah chapter 3)
Now understand this…
As many marriages today come to an end, Irreconcilable Differences is what is often used as the excuse. Basically many claim to have grown apart because they were no longer communicating with one another.
Now if a lack of communication can cause fleshly marriages to fail, what makes us think that this is not the same issue that causes the breakdown in our spiritual relationship with God.
In Matthew 6:10, King Jesus tells us to pray that God’s Will will be done on earth as it is in heaven. It is important that we understand what we are being told here. What we see happening on earth has first happened in the spirit realm.
Therefore, a lack of maintaining communication with the Lord, not just in praying, but in listening as the Lord speaks to us through the reading of His written Word will lead to a breakdown in the relationship resulting in one’s drifting away and ultimately apart.
How often do you read God’s Word?
In a marriage the communication must be two way. Being in a relationship with God is not just about us speaking to God in prayer. It also includes our listening for God to speak to us.

How is your relationship going?
Is your marriage / relationship with God healthy?
Or, are you in danger of a divorce ?
For those who have been negligent in their communication with the Lord, Would you stay married in the natural if you were treated in your fleshly relationships how you treat God?
It is imperative that we consider these questions as it relates to our personal relationship with God and that we are honest with ourselves as we answer them.
Yes it’s very personal.
But it is important that we are honest as we self-reflect on that which we are calling a personal relationship with God because we don’t want to find out later, unexpectedly, that what we thought was a real relationship was actually non-existent.

Something to think about.
Also, great instruction on how to keep our marriage healthy.
