The Appointed Time: This Night Is Different

🌿Nisan 14th (March 31st 6pm – April 1st 6pm)

There are moments in time that are not random.

They are not man-made.
They are not flexible.

They are appointed.

This morning, my heart was burdened with one thing…

The Appointed Time.

And before I could even speak on today, I was led to two moments in Scripture—two stories that reveal something we often miss.

📖 Story One: When God Came… and They Missed It

(Luke 19:41–44)

Jesus was entering Jerusalem.

The people were celebrating.
They were laying down palm branches.
They were praising.

Everything looked right.

But something was off.

Because as Jesus came down from the Mount of Olives and saw the city…

He wept.

Not because they rejected Him.

But because they did not recognize the time.

“Because you did not know the time of your visitation.”

They saw the moment…
but they did not discern it.

And what makes this even deeper…

This happened on a specific day.

Nisan 10.

The very day God had already established in The Bible in Exodus 12—
the day the lamb was to be chosen.

And here comes Jesus…

Riding in.
Present.
Available.

The Lamb.

But they focused on the palms…
and missed the appointment.

📖 Story Two: When the Time Came… and Some Were Not Ready

(Matthew 25:1–13)

Jesus tells a parable.

Ten virgins.

All waiting.
All expecting.
All invited.

But only five were ready.

The delay came.

Time passed.

And they all fell asleep.

But then—
at midnight
the cry rang out:

“The bridegroom is coming.”

This is the part that stood out to me…

The timing was specific.

Not early.
Not late.

Appointed.

And in that moment…

Five were ready.
Five were not.

And those who were not ready tried to fix it too late.

But the door was already shut.

Because the issue was never the invitation.

It was the timing.

We Understand Appointments… Just Not God’s Appointments, Why?

Here’s what really struck me.

We understand appointments.

If we have a job interview—
we show up early.

If we have a doctor’s appointment—
we know there’s a grace period…
but we still aim to be on time.

Because we know this:

If we miss it…
we may have to reschedule.

But when it comes to the appointed times of the Lord

We treat them as optional.
Flexible.
Replaceable.

But what if they’re not?

God Has Always Worked by Appointed Time

This is not new.

God has always moved this way.

  • In Genesis 18:14, God told Abraham:
“At the appointed time I will return…”
  • In Exodus 12, He established a specific day—
not just for that moment, but for generations.
  • In Daniel 8:19:
“At the appointed time the end shall be.”
  • In Habakkuk 2:3:
“The vision is yet for an appointed time…”
  • In Acts 17:26:
God has determined times and boundaries.

This is how God moves.

Not randomly.
Not loosely.

But intentionally… precisely… and on time.

And That Brings Us to Today

Last night…
March 31st at 6pm…

Nisan 14 began.

And it continues into today, April 1st…
until 6pm.

This is not just a moment that is coming.

This is a moment that is already in motion.

An appointed time.

Not created by man.
Not adjusted by culture.
Established by God Himself.

And the question is not:

“Do we know the story?”

The question is:

Do we recognize the time… while we are in it?

Because it is possible…

To be in the middle of the moment…
and still miss it.

Just like Jerusalem.

Just like the five.

I would like to close by sharing this…

If we honor appointments made by man…

How much more should we honor
the appointments made by God?

This is not just another day.

This time is happening now.
