Everyone knows how solar lights work. You know the decorative lights that people line their walkways with, the solar ones, they soak up the light of the sun so that they can shine in the dark.

In order for it to shine its light, it must have time spent in the presence of the sun because the light it gives is a reflection of the sun light whose presence it been in.

JESUS CHRIST is the Light

We, as the disciples of Christ, are to be a reflection of King Jesus.

Matthew 5:14-16
We (believers) are the light of the world. We need to let our light so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven.

John 5:31-47
JESUS called John the Baptist a bright shining light then said he has a witness that is greater than John’s.

2 Peter 1:19-21
We have the prophetic word confirmed which we do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts

God’s word speaks of people walking in darkness. (See Isaiah 9:2)

Isaiah 42:7 says that this darkness is from a prisonhouse

Isaiah 49:9 it’s time to tell the prisoners those in the darkness to show themselves and come out.

To come out of darkness, light needs to be shined.

John 3:19 says light has come into the world but the world CHOSE darkness because their deeds were evil.

Acts 26:18. Jesus said he called Paul to open the eyes of people turning them from light to darkness
