New Author

Meet Mrs. Hattie L. Bradley—mother, grandmother, storyteller, and author.
At 77 years young, Mrs. Hattie L. Bradley is a mother of two, grandmother of two, and a woman whose gentle spirit and kind heart are reflected in the stories she shares.
A widow, Mrs. Bradley has walked through many seasons of life, gathering along the way the wisdom, memories, imagination, and love that now find their way onto the pages of her books. Humble and soft-spoken, she may not be one to make a great fuss about herself—but her stories speak beautifully on her behalf.
Through At the Foot of Grandma’s Bed, Mrs. Bradley invites young readers and their families into a place where storytelling brings generations together and where imagination, life lessons, faith, love, and family can be shared one story at a time.

Description
Mama Hattie would share short stories with her two children when they were little. They would knock on her door and listen for permission to enter her room, where they would sit with her at the foot of her bed and listen to some of the most amazing short stories she would read to them from books they chose. Years later, this tradition of sitting at the foot of the bed was passed down to her grandchildren, becoming a ritual they all looked forward to. Remembering all of the good times that were shared reading, first to her children and then to her grandchildren, Mrs. Hattie, at 77 years of age, wanted to inspire other parents and young children, this time with her own stories and memories of growing up with siblings in the 1950s.
Her children’s stories are short and easy to read. Book One contains the following stories: At the Foot of Grandma’s Bed; The Biggest Little General; Peanut or Butter; The Pump; Betty, Butterfly, and the Bees; and The $0.75 Millionaire. Each story holds simple, yet endearing lessons aimed at developing character traits such as compassion, kindness, gentleness, courage, and more. Mrs. Hattie has many more stories to share about how she, as a young child, learned the benefits of being kind, thoughtful, loving, caring, appreciative, honest, and helpful in life. She hopes that her stories will bring a touch of joy and maybe even some laughter to each of the readers.
